Minnesota Permit to Carry a Handgun Course (Live Fire Qualification)

Description

The Grizzly Creek Gunnery Minnesota Permit to Carry Course is designed to provide students with the knowledge, mindset, and practical skills necessary to responsibly carry a firearm for personal protection. This comprehensive course covers Minnesota carry laws, use-of-force considerations, conflict avoidance, firearm safety, defensive mindset development, situational awareness, and fundamental handgun operation. Students receive hands-on range instruction and live-fire qualification focused on safe firearm handling and practical defensive application. Our goal is to develop informed, confident, and responsible armed citizens prepared to carry safely and legally.

This course consists of two parts: a 80-minute PowerPoint presentation and a live-fire qualification. The live-fire portion is focused primarily on safe firearm handling and demonstrating a reasonable level of proficiency. We understand that many students may be new to handling a handgun, and an instructor will be at your side throughout the qualification process to provide guidance and assistance whenever needed.

The live fire course may take place at one of the following three locations, depending on availability and weather:
